Recruitment Process

Our thorough recruitment process is designed to help you decide whether we're the right company for you and helps us to ascertain if you’re the right person for us. Whatever the outcome, there's something positive to be gained.

It can be confusing to understand what happens when and why it can take some time for us to get back to you so we have put our recruitment timeline below so you can see how it all fits together:

Timeline
Applications September-January 2010
Deadline for Investment programme applications November 6th 2009
Investment Interviews November/December 2009
Investment programme assessment centres December 2009
Deadline for all other programme applications December 31st 2009
Interviews for all other programmes January to mid-February 2010
Assessment centres January-March 2010
Deadline for Summer Internship applications January 31st 2010
Summer Internship interviews November 2009/February 2010
Summer Internship assessment centres December 2009/March 2010
Internship Programmes Start July 2010
Graduate Programmes Start September 2010

The process starts with an online application. If your application is successful, you'll be asked to take part in a competency-based telephone interview. For many of our business areas you’ll then be required to take one or a series of online tests. These vary from numerical or logical reasoning to language. The results of these could determine if you are invited to attend one of our assessment centres, but we’ll explain that in more detail at that stage of the process.

If you’re invited to an assessment centre, this will be tailored to the business area you want to join and will be held at one of our offices. For some business areas there may then be a third round of interviews or a more in-depth assessed exercise.

To find out more about the different stages of the process from applications to assessment centres, just click on the links on the left.

Please note for some of our programmes we begin interviews before the deadline while others are after the closing date, so please refer to the above timeline for your programme.

Every application form we receive is viewed by a member of the recruitment team. We don’t have an automated screening system. This means it’s a busy time of year for us, so please allow four to six weeks before we get back to you. If your circumstances change, please email us at graduate.recruitment@fil.com.
